Looking and feeling good shouldn't only be for the rich and famous. Here are some simple steps that will benefit everyone.

The beauty industry is as bad as the fitness industry when it comes to spreading misinformation in order to rob you of your money. Especially in the recent boom of celebrity, beauty has become exclusive and expensive. But this needn’t be the case. Looking and feeling good is a simple matter of basic habit. And it is neither exclusive nor expensive.

This is a list that proves this point. These simple steps will improve your looks and mood without draining too much on your time or money. All it requires from you is a minimal effort in order to turn these from rules to habits. And although these steps are really simple, the majority of us give little or no thought to them

Take a look at this simple but very effective list that will make you look fresh and young (without having to spend a fortune on beauty products).

The Simple Steps

  • Drink plenty of water. And when we say plenty we mean plenty, not just the regular 8 glasses a day. Water hydrates you and also cleanses your body. It is a natural detox. Without ample hydration our body can quickly loose strength and energy. Remember to drink even when you’re not thirsty; when you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated.
  • Never go to bed without cleaning your face. You can use whatever suits you, soap, cleansing milk, wet wipes, the choices are many and it is up to you to choose your preferred product. However, always remove make up or simply the all-day dirt from your face.
  • Hydrate your face. Use a hydrating cream every day and especially at night (after cleaning your face). There are a lot of good products in the market; you don’t have to spend a fortune buying an extremely expensive cream that can have the same effect as a cheaper one.
  • Exercise. You don’t have to exercise every day or spend hours at the gym. However, some moderate exercise 3 or 4 times a week will make you look better and feel better. Exercise will pump blood faster round our body, increasing the speed at which it heals and rejuvenates. It will also keep our fitness up and our weight down.
  • Sleep well. It is ok staying up late every now and then but it is even better for your skin if you sleep for at least 7-8 hours a day. This is because you give your body the chance to renew the dead cells, something that takes place at night (not while you are partying but while you are sleeping). A good night’s sleep will also help you lose weight in the long run.
  • Eat healthily. We know it is difficult to resist the occasional chocolate but this should be the exception rather than the rule. Instead you should eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. This won’t only give us ample nutrients to keep our body running smoothly including the improvement of our skin and hair; it will also keep us at a healthy weight.
  • Wear sunscreen protection daily. Even when it is not really sunny always wear sunscreen protection. SPF 20 should be fine when walking around in a city. The sun is one of the main causes of wrinkles and skin cancer. Neither of which we want. A good sun cream won’t stop you getting a tan, but it will protect you from harmful UV rays.
